Description
Product Name
FLD-Polyaniline Anti-corrosive Intermediate Coat
Alias
PANI Anti-Corrosion Mid-Coat, Conductive Polymer Intermediate, Nano-Polyaniline Epoxy Intermediate, Active Barrier Mid-Coat
Description
The FLD-Polyaniline Anti-corrosive Intermediate Coat is a two-component, high-build epoxy intermediate coating incorporating polyaniline (PANI) as the active anti-corrosion additive. This mid-coat works synergistically with polyaniline primers and topcoats to provide enhanced electrochemical passivation and barrier protection. Polyaniline maintains a stable oxide layer on the metal surface, actively inhibiting corrosion even when the topcoat is scratched or damaged. The high-build formulation increases total dry film thickness, while the polyaniline additive provides continuous corrosion inhibition throughout the coating system.
Key benefits:
-
Polyaniline provides active electrochemical passivation in the mid-layer.
-
High-build formulation increases film thickness for enhanced barrier protection.
-
Excellent resistance to salt spray, moisture, acids, and industrial chemicals.
-
Compatible with polyaniline primers, epoxy, polyurethane, and fluorocarbon topcoats.
-
Environmentally friendly—free from heavy metals (lead, chromium, mercury).
Typical applications: Offshore platforms, marine vessels, steel bridges, chemical plants, storage tanks, pipelines, wind turbine towers, and any multi-coat anti-corrosion system requiring active passivation and high film build in aggressive environments.
