Description
Product Name
FLD-Epoxy Zinc-Rich Primer (80% Zinc Content)
Alias
Ultra-High Zinc Epoxy Primer, 80% Zinc Epoxy Coating, Maximum Grade Zinc-Rich Primer, Premium Cathodic Protection Epoxy
Description
The FLD-Epoxy Zinc-Rich Primer (80% Zinc Content) is a premium, two-component, high-solids epoxy primer formulated with an ultra-high concentration of zinc dust – 80% by weight in the dry film. This near-maximum zinc content delivers the highest level of cathodic protection available for ferrous metal substrates. It provides exceptional sacrificial protection against rust and corrosion, even in the most extreme environments such as offshore, marine immersion, and heavy chemical exposure. When the coating is scratched or damaged, the ultra-high zinc concentration ensures continuous electrochemical protection, effectively preventing underfilm corrosion, rust creep, and substrate degradation. This primer meets and exceeds the most demanding international standards for zinc-rich coatings, including SSPC-Paint 20 and ISO 12944.
Key benefits:
-
80% zinc content provides the ultimate cathodic protection for maximum corrosion resistance.
-
Outstanding adhesion to near-white or white metal blast-cleaned surfaces (Sa 2.5–3.0).
-
Exceptional resistance to salt spray (1,000+ hours), marine immersion, chemical fumes, and severe industrial atmospheres.
-
Forms a dense, hard, abrasion-resistant film capable of withstanding extreme mechanical abuse.
-
Weldable with proper ventilation; excellent compatibility with epoxy, polyurethane, fluorocarbon, and polysiloxane topcoats.
Typical applications: Offshore drilling platforms, ship hulls and ballast tanks, submarine structures, chemical storage tanks, oil refineries, coastal steel bridges, cryogenic equipment, wind turbine foundations, and any carbon steel structure demanding the absolute highest level of long-term corrosion protection.
