Zinc Phosphate Epoxy Primer, Phosphate-Based Anti-Corrosion Primer, Lead-Free Epoxy Primer, Eco-Friendly Metal Primer

Description

The FLD-Epoxy Zinc Phosphate Primer is a two-component, high-performance epoxy primer utilizing zinc phosphate as the primary anti-corrosion pigment. Unlike traditional zinc-rich primers that rely on high levels of metallic zinc for cathodic protection, zinc phosphate works through passivation and barrier mechanisms. It forms a protective phosphate layer on the metal surface, inhibiting oxidation and promoting excellent adhesion. This primer is lead-free and chrome-free, making it an environmentally friendly alternative for corrosion protection in less aggressive environments.

Key benefits:

  • Zinc phosphate pigments provide effective corrosion inhibition through passivation.

  • Lead-free and chromate-free formulation meets strict environmental and safety regulations.

  • Excellent adhesion to steel, aluminum, galvanized surfaces, and existing coatings.

  • Good sanding properties – ideal for industrial equipment and machinery finishes.

  • Compatible with epoxy, polyurethane, alkyd, and acrylic topcoats.

Typical applications: Industrial machinery, automotive components, farm equipment, storage tanks, steel structures in mild to moderate environments, interior structural steel, and general metal fabrication where high-zinc primers are not required or permitted.
